How fees work
Braces, aligners and retainers are billed as one treatment. Here is how paying works, in the order most families ask.
Insurance we work with
We file claims with some dental plans and are out of network with others, and the owner's plan list says which. Many dental plans have a separate orthodontic benefit with its own limit, and the plan decides what it pays. We are not enrolled with Medicaid or CHIP.

If you pay yourself
Orthodontic treatment is one fee, written down before you start, whether or not insurance pays part of it. HSA and FSA funds may be used for orthodontic care; check your plan. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

Receipts for reimbursement
After each payment we give you an itemized receipt. If your plan reimburses orthodontic care, you can send it in. Whether the plan pays, and how much, is the plan's decision.

An estimate in advance
You can ask for a written estimate before any treatment. If you're paying without insurance, we give you a written estimate in advance, when you schedule or whenever you ask. It lists the treatment, how long we expect it to take and the fee.

Checking your benefits
Alyssa checks your orthodontic benefit before the first visit when you give us your plan details, and tells you what she finds. The plan makes the final decision on what it pays.

What the first visit includes
About 45 minutes: you meet the orthodontist, we look at your teeth and bite, X-rays are taken only if they are needed, and you leave with a written estimate. Fill in the health history on our private patient portal, not by email or in the contact form.
